The Alternative Print Workshop offers an exciting range of corporate and teambuilding photographic workshops. Characterised by elements of fun, exploration, experimentation, and creativity, the workshops are not difficult and all levels can achieve a high degree of success.
Introducing photography at school level may seem a daunting a task at first, but there are many different approaches to introducing this medium. In essence, photography relies on simple principles, consisting of light and its capture on a light-sensitive surface, whether it is analogue or digital. Photography is, however, fraught with technological constraints. To introduce photography at school is thus not an easy undertaking, and various components need to be critically considered including technical knowledge, equipment and facilities.
The Alternative Print Workshop offers Teen Workshops over the summer and winter school holidays. Come join us in a creative, fun and educational environment learning about Black & White film photography, printing, and historical photographic processes. You will build your own pinhole camera; be a chemical whiz and mix light sensitive emulsions and solutions; expose photographic prints to the sun; and learn to work with a film camera, process your own film and print in a traditional B&W darkroom.
